Trapenex TFC-100 or TIK-100: selecting indoor insect control
Compare UV tubes, capture options, coverage and maintenance for the two Trapenex units.
Trapenex offers two indoor UV insect-control products with different construction and coverage: Fly Catcher TFC-100 and Insect Killer TIK-100.
TFC-100 uses three Philips 15W UV blacklight tubes, with 45W total lamp wattage and 50W power consumption. Its stated coverage is 400–500 sq.ft. Choose an electric-grid or replaceable glue-pad version according to the application. The ABS unit measures approximately 518 × 102 × 343 mm.
TIK-100 is described as a 40W-class electric-grid unit with two 18W Magnet Ultra BL-UV tubes and a 36W electronic ballast. Stated coverage is up to 1200 sq.ft in complete darkness, 700–1000 sq.ft at night and 500–700 sq.ft during daytime. Its CRC iron body has an epoxy powder coating, and the sheet lists a one-year warranty.
Use these units indoors, away from water. Recommended mounting height is 1.5–2 m for TFC-100 and 1.5–2.5 m for TIK-100. Unplug electric-grid units before maintenance, clean trays regularly and replace glue pads or tubes as required.
